My Losing Battle with Weight
By Kristyne

From what I've been able to determine from a
sampling of people that I know, it seems that at a certain
point in life, it becomes very difficult to maintain a healthy
weight while living in a land of plenty such as America.
When I was a child, I was thin and healthy
and active all day long. My slender build continued all the way
through high school, and I graduated from high school weighing
125 lbs on my 5'10" frame. That was a very agreeable weight for
my height -- although I realize it is still quite thin.
As time went by, and I had a child and took
up a much more sendentary lifestyle, first as a mechanical
engineer and then as a software engineer, things changed.
Sitting still at a computer keyboard, and commuting long
distances in a car to my job, created a spreading effect on my
backside that I am battling to undo.
There are many things to look at when making
the changes that are needed to promote a healthy
lifestyle. For myself, I've been taking a look at what my
habits are, and how they are contributing to my inability to
lose weight.
This site is about the "Losing Battle" that
everyone faces when making that transition from an unhealthy
life to a healthy life.
